Planning from the Get-Go

Creating fantastic VFX can be simple or complex, but what remains common to all VFX projects is that successly translating concepts onto screen requires effective planning during pre-production.  We encourage our clients to get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can involve our VFX Supervisor from the start, who is experienced in problem-solving all manner of VFX work.

Previz for Success

When complex VFX is involved, it is often desirable to pre-visualize shots or sequences to problem solve blocking, camera angles and lenses prior to the production phase.  Pre-vizualisation is also useful in understanding how post-production animation will interact with actors, background plates etc.. prior to the shoot.  Having a visual representation of the final shot/sequence is incrediably useful in helping on-set crew gain a better understanding of how best to set up shots and shoot – this can save you time and money and prevent costly re-shoots.

Previz begins with our VFX Supervisor discussing storyboards and/or treatments with you to understand your creative and technical requirements and/or limitations before we develop a 3D previsualization.

Lighting Previz

For “iiNet – Rollercoaster”, Monkeyhut VFX created lighting previz which was used as a reference on-set to determine how to accurately light the props and talent for complex shots such as the “Loop” shot.
